J-Rock

J-Rock

J-Rock is an opportunity for senior school kids ( 9+ ) to get up and moving, dancing, acting, and start grooving. It is a fun memorable experience.

David St School took part in J-Rock and our theme was 100 years from WW1. We chose it so everyone who watched it and did it, knows how important it is to remember the soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect us and give us freedom.

First we started with auditions and you could audition for, Poppies, Families, Hip Hop Soldiers, Postman, Normal Soldiers,
Ragtime and Nurses.

We rehearsed for about a Term.

The time flew by and finally it was the day we were going. We hopped in the cars with the parents who offered to take transport and off we went.

Once we got there we were shown around inside and were taken to the place where we had to put our bags. We went to a stadium and got to dance to songs and it was really fun. Then we went to watch some of the college rehearsals. After that we had a few things to eat, then went outside and had free time.

It was a few hours later that we went and got ready for the show. We got in costumes, had our hair and make up done. Finally we were ready to go. All of the audience was already waiting and the announcer was keeping them busy while we were getting in our positions.

Then the curtains opened. The whole thing started.

All too soon it was all over. I was so proud of myself. The teacher took us back and we went to the change rooms. After we were all changed we went with parents and we all went home.

That was the end of the amazing day.

  1. I like the way you have tried to use different linking words to show time.
